Mrs. Ena Barclay, multi-faceted thinker and optimist she was the 43rd President in 2007-2008. She is now the IPP having served in three capacities: President Elect, President, and now IPP in 2008-2009
She is principal for Lyssons Primary School in St. Thomas. Mrs. Barclay has over thirty years of experience in the teaching profession and education sector. She has served the JTA in numerous capacities including as a member of the Associations’ General Council and Central Executive Committees; the two highest decision-making bodies of the JTA outside of the Annual Conference and a Special Conference.
She has earned academic and professional qualifications from Shortwood Teachers’ College, G.C. Foster College, the Jamaica School of Music, now Edna Manley College, the University of West Indies and Mount Saint Vincent University in Canada.
Mrs. Barclay believes that Jamaica can become a place of choice to raise families, live, work and do business. Mrs. Barclay is a widow. She has six children.

J.T.A. President 2008 - 2009


Mr. Doran E. Dixon
Mr. Doran E. Dixon was officially proclaimed President-Elect for 2007-2008 at the official opening of the JTA's Annual Conference on August 27, 2007.
Mr. Dixon is a Principal Lecturer in the Department of Social Studies at Mico University College. He is a Team Leader (Teacher Education Team) in the Reform of Secondary Education (ROSE) Programme. He taught Social Studies, History and Integrated Science at Norman Manley High School between 1986-1992 and served as a Contact Teacher. Mr. Dixon was also employed as a teacher of History, Social Studies and Integrated Science at St. Mary's College. He became the JTA's 44th President in 2008 at the usual well attended installation ceremony of the Annual Conference at the Jamiaca Grande Resort and Spa in Ocho Rios-St. Ann 2008
